Imagine skis designed just for you

Handmade customised skis from Austria

The idea of having skis made just for me was from the beginning super appealing and something I was very interested in learning more about.

In Hintertux October 2025 I got the chance to test a model made for a skier highly comparable in body type and ability to myself.

That experience had me convinced that customisable is the future – and that I wanted to be part of that!

My own skis

I then started imagine what the ideal skis for me would look like. Together with the people from Original+ we came up with a carving ski that was a modified version of a SL ski.

It is a little longer than a regular SL ski (171cm instead of 165cm) and with a little longer turn radius (14m instead of 12m) to give me a bit more time in the turn compared to the very rapid turns you get from a SL ski.

After having tested it over several weeks this has turned out to be an amazing ski for me.

The ski is both agile and stable on hard conditions and the carving performance was just as I was hoping for.

I have recently made some huge improvements in my carving skiing, and that is definitely part of it, but, I can confidently say, that I have made my best carving turns ever on these skis.

The video on top of this page shows a good example of this. I trust the skis, and I feel like they just do what I ask from them.

And that is an amazing feeling when you try to develop your technique and push your skiing further!

Custom top sheet

When you order the skis you also get to chose between a variety of top sheets to match your specific taste. You can even get your name added.

I got my name on one ski and our logo on the other – how cool is that?!

Flex and torsion

The flex pattern and torsion stiffness was set from the questionaire I filled out on their website and the binding was chosen in dialogue with the Original+ team.

Flex and torsion stiffness is measured in Newton meter which gives you an objective number of what the ski is actually like.

And that is one of the game changing parts for me.

Having a number on the exact characteristics of the skis gives you something reliable to base your decisions upon.

Instead of saying I want a ski a bit softer than my previous ski, you can now say: my last ski was 280 nm flex I would love to have my next ski 260 nm flex.

Of course this knowledge has to come from experience, so testing the skis to get this idea would be ideal. But filling out the questionaire and talking to the Original+ crew when customising your ski is a really good starting point.
